Meeting Minutes
May 8, 2013
The meeting was called to order at 7:10 p.m. by Christina Mailhos at the Town Office Building, Selectman’s conference room.

Present to Speak: None
Mrs. Mailhos notified Commission members about a job vacancy at the transfer station with the resignation of Dave Nash. Currently the position is being posted internally, as per union contract, to see if there is any interest within the department.
Approval of Minutes: There were no corrections to the minutes of April 10, 2013.
Unfinished Business: Mrs. Mailhos reviewed the procedure for getting the Commission’s revision recommendations on current ordinances to a Town Meeting—the Commission will submit recommendations to the Board of Selectmen; the Board of Selectmen will discuss the recommendations and then call for a Town Meeting.
The Commission reviewed and suggested a change for the following section in the Transfer Station Ordinance:
To move Section 18, Item and Load Fees, “The Board of Selectmen shall have the authority to set and change fees as it deems appropriate, but only after a duly warned public hearing is held thereon” and make this subsection (c) of Section 12.
Ms. Psathas will make revisions, including renumbering sections, and present Commission members with copies of the finalized Transfer Station Ordinance.
Mrs. Mailhos asked the Commission to present their recommendations for revisions to the Solid Waste Advisory Commission Ordinance and the Town’s Transfer Station Ordinance at the Board of Selectmen’s June 17, 2013 meeting.
The next meeting date is Wednesday, June 12 at 7 p.m.
